Apartment moving in Orlando is a building problem first
Most Orlando apartment moves are not hard because of the furniture. They are hard because of the building. A mid-rise downtown near Lake Eola may need a reserved freight elevator and a loading-dock slot. A garden-style complex off Kirkman Road or Alafaya Trail may have three flights of outdoor stairs and no elevator at all. A gated community in Lake Nona or MetroWest may need a gate code and a visitor pass before the truck can even get in. We plan around each of those before moving day so the crew’s time goes into carrying, not waiting.
What we ask before an apartment move
- Elevator reservation. Many buildings require you to book the service elevator for a set window, and some require elevator pads. Ask the leasing office for the window and send it to us.
- Loading dock or truck spot. High-rises often have a loading dock with its own booking. Garden complexes usually have a fire lane or a parking row the office will point you to. We need to know where the truck can stand.
- Stairs. How many flights at each address, and whether the stairwell turns. Tight landings matter for sofas and box springs.
- Gate codes and access. Gate codes, call-box numbers, key fobs and parking-garage clearance. A low garage ceiling can mean parking on the street instead.
- COI requests. Plenty of Orlando properties ask movers for a certificate of insurance naming the property before they allow a move. We provide a COI on request; send us the management company’s exact wording a few days ahead.
- Move hours. Some buildings only allow moves on weekdays or within set hours. We book the crew inside those rules.
Neighborhoods and roads we work around
Our crews leave from our office on Rose Blvd in south Orlando and move apartments across the city. Downtown towers and mid-rises near Lake Eola often mean tight streets and dock bookings. The UCF area along Alafaya Trail and University Blvd has many student complexes, with heavy turnover when leases end. In Lake Nona’s newer buildings, check for elevator bookings and set move windows. MetroWest, Millenia and the Kirkman Road corridor include large complexes spread across many buildings, so the right building number and the nearest stairwell save real time. Dr. Phillips and the Sand Lake Road area mix apartments with condos. I-4, SR 408 and SR 417 tie most of these together, and we plan the route around rush hour where we can.
Crew size for an apartment
A studio or one-bedroom on the ground floor is often a two-mover job. Third-floor walk-ups, two-bedrooms and long carries from the truck usually go faster with three. Larger apartments, or moves where both buildings have stairs, may need four. We’ll suggest a crew size on the phone based on what you tell us, and you choose.
What a move costs
- Starting at $165/hr for 2 movers, 2-hour minimum
You get a written estimate before you commit. The total depends on access: stairs, elevator waits, long carries from the truck and how much you own. Tell us about those on the phone at 407-440-1423 and they go into the estimate. For the full breakdown, read how Orlando movers price a local move.
Services for apartment moves

Frequently asked questions
Can you send a COI to my apartment complex?
Yes. A certificate of insurance is available on request. Send us the property’s requirements, including the exact names to list, a few days before your move so it’s ready in time.
Do you charge more for stairs or elevators?
We bill by the hour, so stairs and elevator waits affect the total through time, not a separate fee. Tell us about them up front and they’re reflected in your written estimate.
How much do apartment movers in Orlando cost?
Starting at $165/hr for 2 movers, 2-hour minimum.
Can you move me today?
Same-day moves are possible when a crew is available, but they’re never guaranteed. Call 407-440-1423 as early as you can. Our last-minute movers in Orlando page explains how short-notice moves work.
What should I get from my leasing office?
Your elevator reservation window, the loading-dock or truck spot, any gate code or fob, allowed move hours and whether they need a COI.
Do you move apartments outside Orlando?
Yes, anywhere within Florida. We don’t handle moves out of state.
Should I reserve the elevator before I book the movers?
Book them together. Ask your leasing office for the elevator window first, then call us so the crew is scheduled inside it. Morning crews start in our 7–10 AM window, which fits most building move hours.
Do you need my gate code before move day?
Yes. Send gate codes, call-box numbers and parking instructions for both addresses before move day so the truck isn’t stuck at the gate while the clock runs.
My lease ends on the last day of the month. Can you still fit me in?
Month-end is the busiest time for apartment moves, so call as early as you can. We are open on holidays and the phone is answered 24/7 at 407-440-1423.
