A big community with many sub-associations
MetroWest covers about 1,800 acres and has thousands of homes. The MetroWest Master Association looks after the whole community. Many condo and townhome complexes inside it also have their own association with their own rules.
That matters on move day, because the rules can change from one complex to the next. Two real examples from published MetroWest condo rules:
- One condo asks owners and renters to work with its board on a set move-in and move-out schedule.
- Another doesn't allow commercial trucks to park on the property without the board's written OK.
So before your move, ask your complex office three things:
- What hours can we move?
- Where can the moving truck park, and do we need written approval?
- Do you need a certificate of insurance from the movers?
Send us the answers. We'll send the certificate and plan around the rules.
Apartments and condos: stairs, elevators and gates
MetroWest has many apartment and condo complexes. Common things we plan for:
- Second- and third-floor walk-ups. Stairs add time, so we size the crew for them.
- Elevator buildings. Book the elevator for your move window if your building allows it.
- Gated entrances. Give the gate or office our name and your move date, or send us a gate code.
- Long walks from parking. If the truck can't park near your door, the carry takes longer. We'll list it in your estimate.
Single-family homes and townhomes
MetroWest also has single-family neighborhoods and townhome rows, some near the golf course. For houses, we plan around driveways, HOA truck rules and garage access. For townhomes, we measure narrow stairs before move day.
Getting in and out of MetroWest
The main entrance is MetroWest Boulevard off Kirkman Road, and South Hiawassee Road runs through the middle. Kirkman Road gets busy, especially near Universal and at rush hour. We plan arrival times around it.
What a MetroWest move costs
- 2 movers: $165 an hour, 3-hour minimum ($495 minimum labor).
- One-time truck & travel fee: $150 to $240, based on truck size and distance.
- Most small moves, like a studio or one-bedroom, start around $645 to $735.
- Larger crews: custom quote.
