Central Florida Relocation Resources for New Residents
Just moved to Orange, Seminole or Osceola County? Here are the official websites for your address change, driver license, tags, utilities, voter registration, schools, transit and homestead, in one place. Every link goes to a government, school district or utility site. Links checked October 15, 2026.

Your first-month checklist
- Before you move: file your USPS change of address.
- Within 10 days of becoming a Florida resident: title and register your vehicle (with Florida insurance).
- Within 30 days: get your Florida driver license (new residents), or update the address on your license and registration (if you moved within Florida).
- Start or transfer electric, water and trash service.
- Update your voter registration.
- Enroll children in school.
- Homeowners: file for homestead exemption by March 1.
Deadlines are from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (New Resident and Name and Address Changes) and the Orange County Property Appraiser. Always confirm current rules on the official site.
